1958 William Castle Macabre. A certificate for a $1000 life insurance policy from Lloyd’s of London was given to each customer in case he/she should die of fright during the film.Showings also had ushers dressed in surgical garb with ambulances outside theater.

Macabre? will be shown this coming Saturday night at the Slient Movie theatre in Los Angeles (10/23/10). Let’s hope everyone makes it through as Mr Sardonicus is on the bill as well. Stay alive to vote in the Punishment Poll

I second that emotion! I’d certainly love to see the whole movie here online. I’ve seen many of the late great Bill Castle’s 50’s shockers shown on cable TV over? the years, but never this one!
